Volker Zander is invited to organize the third edition of the LODGERS-program, collaboration between M HKA, AIR Antwerpen and Apparent Extent (Cologne).

The composer and musician Volker Zander started the label Apparent Extent in 2005. Apparent Extent soon specialized in releasing records by artists such as Johanna Billing, Karl Holmqvist, Christina Jendreiko and many others, always in cooperation with public institutions such as Arnolfini, Bristol; Malmo Konsthall, Malmo; Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe. During his stay in Antwerpen Volgker Zander will exhibit the artists and records of Apparent Extent, also organize various shows with the hobbypopMuseum (Düsseldorf/ London), Beaster (Düsseldorf/ Hannover); A.U.Awings Unlimited (Cologne/ Düsseldorf) and Christina Jendreiko (Düseldorf). He will also start working on a new record with experimental songs and compositions by the Norwegian artist Erik Hesselberg (1914 – 1972), best known as navigator on the Kon-Tiki expedition in 1947.

Volker Zander studied urbanism in Kassel in the 90’s. Always composing and playing in bands, he became a touring musician, mainly playing upright and electric bass. Since 2012 he started working as composer and live musician in theatre projects and also wrote and directed audio works for public radio and art-film projects.
